This is wonderful! Thank you James, over half way through yet still got the rest to read. It's jam-packed full of necessary imperative information that will want to go back to again to deeply absorb and reflect over. It's sad & actually heartbreaking that repentance renewal transformation and regeneration as well as sanctification and obedience that all is derived from Jesus Christ heavenly father & the Holy Spirit in the first place is seen and spoken of as works, as merely dirty filthy rags and even unnecessary, that we are actually encouraged, expected to grow in the grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ, to bring forth fruits that befit repentance & Jesus' righteousnes and Jesus' character nature image and likeness to be developed in us that is brought about by grace through faith, God does it in us but we must be willing to co-operate with God in this phenomenal process, instead obedience and reciprocating God's love that He loved us with first is seen and taught as something shameful prideful or arrogancy, that our father in heaven is always angry & never pleased with anything we do that He empowers us & enables us to in and through Him to will and to work for His good pleasure. But this truth has become so sadly distorted and perverted and deeply misunderstood today.
The call to repentance from sin is for all people everywhere.
"God overlooked people's ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him." Acts 17:30 NLT
"It's sad & actually heartbreaking that repentance renewal transformation and regeneration as well as sanctification and obedience that all is derived from Jesus Christ, heavenly father & the Holy Spirit in the first place is seen and spoken of as works, as merely dirty filthy rags and even unnecessary" Hephzibah.
Dear Hephzibah, it comforts me that you understand how important it is to have a sound comprehension of repentance now more than ever. With the world getting darker by the hour and evil of all kinds permeating all levels of our society, we need to be made aware of how the influences of these ungodly perversions will and have led people away from the LORD so repentance needs to be talked about, understood and put into sincere practice by all, or we will suffer the consequences of unrepentance, as most notable fallen nations, such as my own the United States of America, it is now under GOD's judgment for unrepentant sin, it has become one of the most evil Nations in the world, no debate needed to state this fact.
"Then one night the LORD appeared to Solomon and said, I have heard your prayer and have chosen this Temple as the place for making sacrifices. At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you.
"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land." 2 Chronicles 7:12-14 NLT
We have all heard this scripture quoted a lot lately, here spoken to Solomon for the people of Israel, but most importantly, it outlines a perfect example of repentance and the way the LORD has arranged it in this order-- humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, and the LORD will hear from Heaven and forgive our sins.
"Humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins." verse 7:14
Yes, it's about deliverance, "renewal transformation and regeneration as well as sanctification and obedience" Hephzibah.

Knowing the LORD up close through repentance and confession, how are they connected?
If we confess our sins / Grace to you/ John MacArthur
"If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth." 1 John 1:8 NLT
Transgression: sin, wrongdoing, offense, ungodliness, unrighteousness, immorality, iniquity, profanity, wickedness, evil, an offense against GOD, a violation, a separation, a hardening of the heart.
Repentance: a sincere regret or remorseful sorrow for sins committed, shame for sinful actions, changing one's mind and heart, turning away from sin, a turnaround, surrender, the start of a new life to walk with the LORD, a desire to draw nearer to GOD as He draws nearer to you.
Confession: acknowledgment of our sin, willingly recognizing our sin, declarations of wrongdoings or guilt, confession of an offense against GOD and others, admission of sin, admitting our sins before GOD, and asking for forgiveness.
Sanctification: declaring us holy and making holy as an ongoing action, being set apart, set free from sin and death by the blood of Christ.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 NIV
Repentance isn't about fear and discouragement or condemnation. No, it's about freedom, joy, and unimaginable peace. It's grabbing hold of the victory over sin in Christ our LORD. Yes, we are the overcomers, and confession of sin doesn't reduce the finished work of Christ on our behalf, but it's the continuation of it through sanctification. It ushers us in before the throne of GOD so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Continuously confessing our known and unknown transgressions before the LORD is how we are renewed and restored. We confess our sins to please the LORD and draw closer to Him daily. In turn, confession should be what we wholeheartedly desire, without any reservations, to be holy as He is holy, transformed, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit. We are being made Holy, set apart for the LORD's Kingdom, more and more, day by day.
"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Intimately drawing close to the LORD, yes, it is all about the condition of our hearts.
"You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13 ESV
"But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear." Isaiah 59:2 BSB

Thank you and amen.
Micah 3:2..you who hate the good and love the evil,
who tear the skin from off my people
and their flesh from off their bones,
3 who eat the flesh of my people,
and flay their skin from off them,
and break their bones in pieces
and chop them up like meat in a pot,
like flesh in a cauldron.
4 🪔Then they will cry to the Lord,
but he will not answer them;
he will hide his face from them at that time,
because they have made their deeds evil🪔.
5 Thus says the Lord concerning the prophets
who lead my people astray,
who cry “Peace”
when they have something to eat,
but declare war against him
who puts nothing into their mouths.
6 Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision,
and darkness to you, without divination.
The sun shall go down on the prophets,
and the day shall be black over them;
7 the seers shall be disgraced,
and the diviners put to shame;
they shall all cover their lips,
for there is no answer from God.
8 But as for me, I am filled with power,
with the Spirit of the Lord,
and with justice and might,
to declare to Jacob his transgression
and to Israel his sin.
